Due to the fact I dont have enough time to manage 2 Blog sites and a website and still work fulltime as a IT Technician with Wedding Photography on week ends i have to call a spade a spade. Macaneta Island Beach Wedding, Mozambique

Hi there Everyone
I feel like a stranger to my own blog as i have been away for so long. I was off to Mozambique to do a beach wedding at Macaneta Island resort.I must say the wedding was a real blast with a real twist as it is only when you don’t have your normal day to day creature comforts like stable electricity and running water that you appreciate what you have. Every chance i got i charged the camera batteries and got everything for the sunset wedding. Well my hopes for a nice golden hour wedding shoot were dashed when the wedding was postponed by two hours as the ferry that was to bring the hair dressers from Maputo did not want to depart before his boat was full. Like they say in Blood Diamond, TIA” This Is Africa”.
Hope you enjoy what i took as much as i enjoyed running around in my less than formal wear clothing and bare foot. I can’t wait for the next beach wedding, Hint Hint.....

Scottish Highlands Wedding in Benoni

Hi there everyone.
Hope you are all doing well. Well I covered a wedding at Shades of Green in Benoni on the 14th March for Simone and Ian.On the day I met the two Simone was very worried about the rain on her wedding day, and i told her clouds are fine and she must not worry too much.
Well wedding day arrives and the sun is bright and wow, what a wonderful Saturday afternoon, oh wait what is that I see, Global warming ? The weather patterns are all mixed up and we landed up getting a down pour an hour before I left for the shoot. Stressed bride and an very nervous Paul as the rained slowed down and that was some relief while Simone walked into the thatched roof chapel under the thick cover of trees. Now my biggest enemy was the rain drops on the lens as I walked her in. Later we had a period of no rain at all so we had a opportunity for some creative’s in the soaked garden. The rain drops still bugging me as it dripped from the leaves over head.In the end of the day I stayed later than i intended and it turned out to be a blast.I guess Simone wanted to marry a Scotsman so she started off with the typical Scottish Highlands weather. Congratulations Simone and Ian.

Shades of Green, Benoni

Sorry i have not been too active on my blog posting but a full time job does have it's down side, too much work and not enough time. Anyway I am blessed to have this space in time to update everyone as to what is happening in my world. I have joined our Photographers group, Much like FaceBook only better and it does not fall over as much.I started two groups on the site and it is going well, you are all welcome to join it and it is free and we chat to Photogs about what we love, being behind the lens. the link is http://www.pixmag.ning.com/ .
Anyway I will be doing my first wedding for this year at Shades of Green in Benoni. It is a organic farm with a stunning tea garden. A New Year, New Challenges

First things first, I hope every one will have a blessed new year
And may the world problems not effect us too much.
I would like to say that I had a blast doing Tilana and Wesley’s wedding in Dec 2008.
I took them to a very romantic setting with a dam over flowing from the wonderful rain God has blessed us with. Everyone wants to know where this farm is but I am not giving up my secrets.

Hope everyone can truly say they did there best this year and you have prospered from your hard work and little endeavours to try and make it to the top.I would like to thank everyone that visits my site on a regular basis to see what I have been up to.May God make your dreams come true but remember you have to still do the work and He will do the coaching, may it be a set back or a victory. There are lessons in everything we do and experience.I would like to first of all give praise to my Father in Heaven who has blessed me with my photographic talent that I may capture his children making the ultimate loving promise in His presence to love and care for each other until their dying day. I want to thank God for my incredible passion I have for photography. With out my God given talent that I have discovered while working in IT, I would have just been a slave to this world.
I would also like to take this opportunity and thank my wife Jo-Marie for standing by me in all my projects and photo shoots that I have had to attend to. I will make it up to you one day my love.
Last but not least I want to ask God to Bless everyone in this his Sons birthday.People tend to loose the plot as to what is Christmas. It is the day we were sent the greatest man that ever walk this earth to save us. I am glad and proud to say I know Christ and through him I am becoming the man he wants me to be.

Weekend Fishing Trip

My wife and I went away with my sister in law and her boyfriend to do some fishing.We were not blessed with the fish biting as we discovered that they are spawning and have not got food on their brains but other natural instinctive ideas.I got bored and being me with a small camera close at hand and a beautiful sunset, I got my Sister in Law and her boyfriend to me my models.I hope you like the shots I took out of boredom as I build up to my next wedding shoot on the 13th Dec. Weekend Getaway @ Dullstroom

Well the time has come to take that weekend getaway i really needed.

My wife and I went to Elandskloof in Dullstroom.

We seemed to have selected a getaway to this trout resort when the weather desided to

play havoc on us. We were stuck indoors due to the mist, rain and cold.

I did take a few shots and hope you enjoy them.

I am getting ready for the next two shoots for this year, Our company year end function and the wedding for my new clients Tilana and Wesley on the 13th Dec.

My Greatest Works To Date

Good Day Everyone,
Hope that life has not become too much of drag in these tough times.I must just share a few of what I classify as my greatest work to date,(No stepping on previous clients toes intended ). I can see God the Father has blessed me with a talent and I can now see the fruits of his work through me as I always makea point in Praying before I do any Photos for clients.The long awaited second shooter opportunity with Andrea Carlyle Came to pass on Sat 27 September.
I was tasked to take the photos of the Groom( Alasdair ) and the crew. I met up with them and it was great fun as I felt like one of the guys, even helped one of the crew with his tie as it was a loosing contest after the 4th attempt.I had up until the moment that bride (Gemma), never met Andrea, until I see this lady run out the St Johns Reception area with more cameras around her neck than the burdens of the Financial Brokers on the stock markets. We both just did what we do best, take the best possible shots.Anyway all went very well and I took photos with a pro leading me and in a location that was to die for. The bridal couple were just pure magic to work with, granted they could not stop kissing and looking dreamy eyed at each other. I think they needed lipice after our 45min shoot.

Arista & Tercius Wedding 30-09-2008

Hi there everyone
I apologize for sounding so quite these last few weeks.Busy, busy, busy is all I can say. I am very glad to show case my latestwedding I did 3 weeks ago for family friends.Tercius and Arista tied the knot at Summer Place in Boksburg on Saturday 30th Aug.It was a beautiful morning wedding that was slightly delayed as the Pastor was stuck behind a motor car accident in the town centre. I told the wedding car driver to disappear for the 15 min it took for the Pastor to arrive. He cam racing past the main gate around the corner with his car horn chanting his delayed arrival to the chapel. The wedding was over by three in the afternoon and as always, it is over before it even began. This coming weekend I will the second shooter for the infamous Andrea Carlye at St Johns College in Johannesburg.I will only post two or two photos of the wedding I did for Arista & Tercius at Summer Place.If you would like to see more please visit my website http://www.paulsphotos.co.za/

Accidents do happen

Nitro Race Action on 04/08/2008

Well what an action packed day it was with lots of action and fast cars.

I did take a few stunning photos of cars and bikes with wheelies, even by some cars.

Towards the end of the day we had some action when a Nissan 1400 Turbo launched out of the start line and lost his right back wheel about 50m from the start.

All went pear shaped when it went into a roll over and unfortunatly i missed the first fraction of the accident as it happened but i did capture it as it was rolling over onto it's side before landing on the roof. Luck was on the young drivers side when he walked away without a scratch.

Cause of this misfortune was down to a over sized wheel spacer on the back wheels. All the power that goes through the wheels from a turbo charged car was just too much for the wheel studs that were not threaded in deep enough into the axels.

At last i have made my website live after a period of learning to design my own website and learn how to create it all in my lunch hour and while lovie lay asleep in bed.
I now am proud to say it the brain child i worked on all by my self and hope this will become my platform for all the world to see.
I am proud to say i have three websites and a website to boast with.
I have a email account in my own name and dont have to rely on a third party provider all the time.

I say finally as i have been wanting to second shoot with
someone I regard as a Pro in her own right,Andrea Carlyle.

I will be second shooting with Andrea at St Johns College, Houghton.
This will be taking place on the 27th of September.
I completely admire Andrea's style and energy in her photos.
Everything thing she captures and the way she captures the romance and love in the detail she sees is only one word,WOW!

The Count Down Has Begun

Well Here I am on this cold Sunday afternoon doing my "Homework".
I say homework as this is what I do in my mind to prepare for my next Wedding Shoot
taking place in six weeks from now at Summer Place in Boksburg.
This will be a morning wedding and i am sure it will not be the last wedding i do
at this beautiful location as the lawns i think are cut with nail clippers, yes it is that
well "groomed" if you would like to call it that.
I went to Summer Place with the groom to be and took Pre photos to help me get my creative juices flowing and to see what i can pull out of the bag as i like to be prepared as when it comes to the wedding day, the time that needs to be made up will always be made up by clipping the photographers time for the photos.
I will include a few photos at a later stage, cant show you everything now.
I have to have coming back to visit my site.
The final wedding date will be 30th Aug.

Namibia, Here I Come.... OK I'm Back !!!!

This week I will be off to Windhoek, Namibia. I have to go there for four days for the company. I hate going away on my own as i will not be able to share the experience with my beautiful wife Jo-Marie. I will have to just bring back some great pics for everyone. Should get some nice sunset photos and maybe some animals if I am lucky. If i was there only to photos i would not even consider going away without my wife. Anyway i have to go and fix a few computer problems that we have at our depot. Will keep you posted, Happy Snapping, Paul

Well welcome back you beautiful people of this world !!

I am glad to be back home after 4 days in Namibia fixing our company computers.

I did get it right to make use of the golden hour for a few photos and some creative shots.

When i drove into Windhoek from the airport i passed this old steel railway bridge about 10Km outside of the town and i felt i just had to try somthing at this location.

I drove back to the bridge a two days later after work and parked off the road and walked up the hill with a service road and while walking along the tracks to the old bridge, built in 1922.

I found an old dried out baboon skull and picked it up as my new mascot.

I just had to fit in my mascot and i hope you will like what i did with the old chap.

Overall it was fun and i just wished i could have shared this wonderful country with my wife.

21st Birthday Party

Good Day everyone

I was busy this past weekend and i got the

oppotunity to photograph the 21st birthday

party of Elandrec Narrainsamy.

I was thrilled to work with her as i could see

she was very comfortable infront of the lens and it made

my work just that much easier.

I hope you will find her inner light shine through the photos.

It was a great party to attend and learn about new cultures.

Thanks to the Narrainsamy family for the chance to capture one

great event in the life of a family member moving into Adult hood.

Wheels Of Thunder !!!

This weekend saw me getting out and about

To the Heidelberg Motor Show.

I tried my hand at abstract photos with some

Harley Davidsons and the chrome work.

Getting close to one of these animals makes me get

All hot under the covers as this is my dream machine,

Forget about the Ferrari or Porsche, Harley makes my blood gel.

Oh and I took photos of the aircraft that I was luck to get

Close to by flashing my baby blue eyes.

5 Minute Photo Shoot

About to leave for home after a week at the salt mine,

Beverly walks into my office and asks me nicely if i would not mind taking a few photos of her daughter as it is her Prom/Matric Farewell dance and she does not have a camera.

Well seen she asked me so nicely and it is on my way home i agreed.

Luckly for Beverly i had my small backup camera in my car boot and batteries fully charged.

You are after all not a photographer if you never have a camera close at hand ready for any action.

Easy answer, I love motor sport and it teaches me to have my whit’s about me as it is a fast moving sport just like capturing a couples magical wedding day,
you only have once chance.
